Speakers:
Dr Manohar Furtado – PhD in Biochemistry, University of Poona (1986); Business Certification from the Sloan School of Management at MIT (2009). President & Founder of Biology for Global Good; Consultant for and investor in several Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical companies. Dr Furtado has over 30 years of experience in Life Sciences. He was appointed to the National Biodefense Science Board (2011-2015) by DHHS Secretary Sibelius and was an advisor to the Obama administration on strategies to develop countermeasures to combat Biothreats and pandemics.
Abhishek Sharma – Consul-Commerce at the Consulate General of India, San Francisco. His primary responsibility is to strengthen India-US trade and commerce relations. He joined the Indian Consulate in San Francisco in 2024 for a tenure of 3 years. He has an academic background in Electronics Engineering and Finance. He is an alumnus of 2008 batch of DoMS IISc Bangalore. He worked in corporate sector for about 5 years in Bangalore before joining Civil Services in 2013. He has worked in various capacities in Government of India.
Dr Ashok Sinha – Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering, University of Oxford and BE from IISc. Former Chairman and CEO of Sunpreme. Held several key leadership roles in Sunpreme, Mattson Technology, Applied Materials and Bell Labs with a strong track record in Renewables and Semiconductor (equipment) Technology & Product Development, Market positioning, Business Growth, Continuous Improvement and Integrated Circuits (IC).
