Join the IISc AANA UG Women Fellowship Campaign

The IISc Alumni Association (IISc AANA), with support from the Midwest chapter of the USA, is championing a program for undergraduate women’s fellowships to increase the number of women in science and technology at the Indian Institute of Science.

The  program, initiated by the IISc AANA Midwest Chapter in 2022 with an award of three fellowships, has been a beacon of opportunity. Each student was awarded a fellowship for their four years of undergraduate study. Subsequently, in 2023, three more fellowships were awarded, further enriching the academic journey of deserving scholars. The program’s success is underscored by the positive feedback received from the scholarship recipients and the IISc administration.

“As I came from an economically weak family, the AANA fellowship will help me a lot to afford the expenditures of my education. The fellowship is also a source of
inspiration to me to make progress in my academic career in the future and to achieve aspirational goals to fulfill my dreams”
 – Recipient 1

“I am grateful to be a beneficiary of this act. This has helped me to be more independent and has raised my morale. I acknowledge the sponsors and the institute for this support and am deeply thankful” – Recipient 2

“The AANA Fellowship is having a significant impact on my academic pursuits and progress towards aspirational goals by providing opportunities to gain new knowledge and skills, as well as funding to support research and scholarly activities. It is helping me in progressing towards my aspirational goals”
– Recipient 3

The Midwest Chapter kick-started this incredible initiative, but now IISc AANA is determined to take it global and lead the charge in empowering women in the fields of science and technology. Our vision is to award three new outstanding fellows every year for their four year study, creating 12 perennial life-changing fellowships annually. To ensure the lasting impact of this mission, IISc AANA is establishing an Undergraduate Women’s Fellowship Endowment Fund. We urgently need your support to achieve our ambitious $450,000 endowment goal. Join us in making a real, tangible difference in the lives of aspiring women in STEM!

APPEAL: INVEST in women’s education and change the world. JOIN US in empowering women to make a lasting impact. Your generosity can make a significant impact on the lives of aspiring women scientists and technologists.
